State Technical Manager – LAP (Loan-Against-Property)
Key Responsibilities
Oversee state-wide technical operations for the LAP portfolio including property valuation, asset inspection, collateral documentation and vendor management.
Develop and monitor KPIs/TAT for valuation & technical processes, ensure adherence to quality and policy standards.
Manage empanelment and performance of external valuation agencies and technical vendors; conduct periodic audits and spot-checks.
Work closely with credit, risk, operations and business teams to ensure collateral adequacy, monitor early delinquencies and support resolution of stressed assets.
Provide market intelligence on real estate trends, regulatory/legal issues (including local property laws, RERA, etc.) and advise senior leadership on potential risks or opportunities.
Conduct team training and skill enhancement programs for the technical/valuation team in the state.
Lead process improvement initiatives in the technical domain—reduce cycle time, increase efficiency, reduce cost and improve quality of collateral validation.
Support new business launches, product enhancements and process automation in collateral/technical workflow for the LAP segment.
Key Requirements
Deep understanding of real estate valuation methodologies, statutory/regulatory environment related to immovable property, and experience with vendor/agency management.
Proven track record in setting up / improving technical & collateral workflows in lending organizations; experience in scaling secured loan portfolios is a plus.
Strong analytical and process-orientation mindset; excellent stakeholder management and leadership skills.
Ability to travel extensively within the state and work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Real Estate, or equivalent; MBA preferred.
Proficiency in Python and ML libraries such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face Transformers.
Knowledge of LangChain or LlamaIndex for building GenAI pipelines.
Experience with open-source LLMs (LLaMA, Mistral, Falcon, etc.).
Experience : Minimum 8–12 years (or as per internal grade) in secured lending (preferably LAP/Housing/Commercial Real Estate), with at least 3–5 years in a leadership role managing technical/valuation teams for an NBFC/Bank.
